POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)

1. Slide mechanism
misaligned.
2. Slide mechanism
damaged.
3 Debris jamming
internal gear.
1. Drill chuck is loose
and drill bit wanders.
2. Drill bit misaligned.
3. Drill bit cutting point
and flutes dull.
4. Magnetic base
moving during
cutting.
1. Arbor is loose and
cutting bit wanders.
2. Cutting bit dull.
3. Magnetic base
moving during
cutting.
1. Magnetic base is not
holding effectively.
2. Worn arbor bushing
(#8.16, #8.17) and/or
ejector collar.
3. Too much downward
pressure at start of
cut.
4. Cutter is dull, worn,
chipped or incorrectly
sharpened.

SUGGESTED SOLUTION(S)

2. Remove guide from tool
for repair.
3. Remove guide from tool
and clean gears of
debris. Replace
components if damaged.
1. Tighten chuck.
2. Realign drill bit.
3. Sharpen drill bit and
flutes.

1. Tighten grub screws at
arbor spindle.
