SLIDE ADJUSTMENT
The magnetic drill vibrates during use and this may cause a
misalignment with the slide mechanism. Check that the slide moves
up and down smoothly. Realign the slide if it is difficult to move
through the full range of motion or if it shifts sideways at all.
1.
Stand the drill on its base. Raise the slide (#37) fully to the top.
2.
Clean the adjustable brass gib strip (#36) and the fixed
brass gib strip (#39), then lightly oil the strips with machine
oil. Move the slide along its full range of motion to spread
the oil.
3.
Centre the slide in the housing. Loosen the four grub
screws (#19) holding the adjustable gib to the housing
(#18). Add a drop of oil at top of the gibs, between the
slide and gibs.
