Safari wheel lock
(Fig. 6.7)
Safari wheel lock (Wheel lock
integrated into sideguard):
The Safari wheel locks are
operated by pushing the lever
forwards (away from the patient's
body).
To release the brakes, pull the
lever back towards the body.
Attendant wheel lock (Fig. 6.8)
The attendant wheel lock
combines the Safari wheel lock
with an additional wheel lock
handle operated by an attendant
person.
The handle (lever) is mounted at
the push handle and locks the
Safari wheel lock if required.

Drum Brakes

Drum brakes permit safe and convenient braking for an
attendant.
They can also be set with the aid of a locking lever (1) to
prevent rolling.
The lever must snap audibly into place.
Drum brakes are not influenced by air pressure inside the tyres
(Fig.6.9).
WARNING!
• Drum brakes must only be adjusted by authorised dealers
• Always operate the two brakes simultaneously to guarantee
the control of the driving direction!
• Drum brakes can only be used as a dynamic brake to stop the
wheelchair while driving.
• Always engage the wheel locks to secure the wheelchair
during a short or long stop, or for transfer.

Footboard

Footrest - Aluminium
There are several footboards available.
These can be flipped up to make it easier to transfer to/from the
chair.
Lower leg length (Fig. 6.10)
By undoing the clamp screw (1), you can adjust the lower leg
length. Loosen the clamp screw, adjust the tube on the
footboard to the desired position.
Tighten clamp screws again (see the page on torque). Ensure
that the plastic push joint is located under the clamp screw in
the correct position.
The screws used are fitted with threadlock at the factory and
can be adjusted up to 5 times after fitting. After that they should
be replaced or alternatively re-secured with threadlock to
medium tightness.
Footrest - Aluminium
There are several footboards available.
These can be flipped up to make it easier to transfer to/from the
chair.

Footrests
If the footrest width needs to be
adjusted, please undo the screw
(1), set the desired width, by
positioning 1, 2 or 3 spacers (2)
from outer to the inner side and
then refit the screws, (Fig. 6.11).
Footboard lock (6.12)
The footplate locks in
automatically when flipped down.
To flip it up the release knob (1)
must be pulled. To keep the
unlocked position turn knob 1
when it is pulled.
WARNING:
Always make sure to unlock the system to get full functionality!
