General Cleaning

Immerse a cleaning tissue with a standard disinfectant, e. g. microcide,
and clean the contaminated parts.
4.8

Periodic Cleaning

To increase process security it is recommended to periodically clean the
contact springs of the Guide Block - Turning squeeze axis, the contact
points for the tubing holders and the tubing holders in the pinching area.
For cleaning the contact springs and the contact points, it is recommended
to use a cotton bud which is immersed with a standard disinfectant,
e. g. microcide.
4.9

Cleaning the Thermopile Sensor

The cleaning of the temperature sensor should only be performed in case
the temperatures are outside of the range of tolerance .
After cleaning, it must be ensured that the visibility field of the
temperature sensor does not bear any residues .
For cleaning the temperature sensor will be removed from the
Biowelder
TC. Use an appropriate cotton bud with a max. diameter of
®
4 mm and immerse it with a standard disinfectant, e. g. microcide, and clean
the visibility field of the temperature sensor.

4.10 Decontamination

The machine must be decontaminated with either:
− Isopropanol 70%
− Sodium hypochlorite 0.75%
− Propanol 45%, Isopropanol 25%, Ethanol 4.7%
The customer is responsible for correct decontamination!
After correct decontamination, the customer must fill out the
"Decontamination form" that the machine is free from biological, chemical
or radioactive contaminants. This form can be get from the local
Sartorius representative.
