2. Install the Shank and Valves
NOTE: This section applies to installations utilizing rigid
connections only. For installations utilizing flexible connections,
proceed to the "Install the Spout" section.
Insert the spout shank upside down through the mounting hole
in the bath rim.
Insert each of the valves upside down into the appropriate
mounting hole. Cold should be on the right when facing the
faucet.
Measure the distance between each of the valves and the spout
shank to determine the tubing needed for either compression
fittings or solder connections. Allow for sufficient clearance.
Remove the valves and spout shank from the mounting holes.
Cut the tubing to the appropriate lengths according to your
measurements.
Preassemble the spout shank, valves, and tubing. Do not tighten
or solder any connections at this time.
Verify that the mounting nuts are still installed to the valves and
the spout shank.
Slide a fiber washer and then a rubber washer onto each valve
and the spout shank.
NOTE: The following steps require two people.
