Any use of the oxygen self-rescuer requires full understanding and strict
observation of these instructions.
The oxygen self-rescuer is only to be used for purposes specified here.
Maintenance
The oxygen self-rescuer must be inspected and serviced regularly by
trained service personnel.
Repair and general overhaul of the oxygen self-rescuer may only be carried
out by trained service personnel.

that all repairs also be carried out by them.
Only authentic Dräger spare parts may be used for maintenance.

Description

Oxy K 30 HW/HS/HS KD is an oxygen self-rescuer, independent of the
ambient air, with a closed to-and-fro breathing system which uses
chemically-bound oxygen and a fire escape hood.
Oxy K 30 HW/HS/HS KD has a nominal duration of 30 minutes (at the
breathing rate of 35 L/min according to DIN 58 639). The operating period
can be significantly extended depending on the users breathing rate.
The Oxy K-Series of oxygen self rescue devices conform to DIN 58 639
and meet the requirements of EC Council Directive PPE (89/686/EC).

Intended Use

Oxy K 30 HW/HS/HS KD is intended for emergency escape from areas
filled with smoke or toxic gases or lacking oxygen.
Restriction:
Oxy K 30 HW/HS/HS KD is only suitable for use in the temperature
classes T1, T2, T3 and T4.
CAUTION:
Due to the possible presence of oxygen in the hood, the user must
avoid direct contact to flames or sparks when carrying the
Oxy K 30 HW/HS/HS KD. The presence of oxygen in the hood
increases fire hazards, which can result in serious injuries or even
death.
If the emergency exit is completely blocked by flames and sparks,
direct contact can to a large extent be avoided by covering the hood
with ones own body.

Carrying Method

Oxy K 30 HS/HS KD
Everyday carried on the shoulder.
Other methods are possible, such as
transport in a vehicle
on the chest with additional chest strap
in an emergency on the chest.

Oxy K 30 HS/HS KD
The Oxy K 30 HS/HS KD has to be weighed upon being delivered.
When weighing the oxygen self-rescuer, detach the harness.
The measured weight has to be compared with the weight on the metal
plate.

self-rescuer has to be discarded.
Before placing the oxygen self-rescuer
into service, the customer has to mark
the oxygen self-rescuer with the dates of
the inspection intervals on the metal
plate. The metal plate is on the backside
of the oxygen self-rescuer.
