11.1 Batteries, (Fig. 11.1 - 11.4)

The batteries are contained within the drive unit located
beneath the seat, under the battery shroud.
To remove the batteries:

module interface, ( A-Fig.11.1).
Flip the seat frame backwards and secure it with the
safety bar, (B-Fig.11.2).
Lift off the battery lid, (Fig.11.3).
Disconnect the 2 pin Anderson connectors from each

There are straps available on each battery where they
can be lifted out with the front battery being removed
first, (D-Fig.11.4).
To fit the batteries please reverse the above process.
WARNING!
The Salsa M2 Mini is fitted with two flexible straps
that retain both of the handle screws, (A-Fig.11.5).
These are fitted as a safety feature and should not be
removed from the wheelchair .
If the flexible straps are missing, or either of the
handle screws are not in place, please stop using the
wheelchair immediately and seek assistance to check
that the handle screws and straps are fitted correctly,
(A-Fig.11.5).
Ensure both handle screws and straps are in place
and secure.
