Re-Assembling; Brake Release - Quickie Salsa M2 Mini Manuel D'utilisation

WARNINGS!
• Make sure, when the wheelchair is stored or left in the
car or anywhere else, the controller is switched off and
the freewheel mechanisms are engaged, (in Drive).
• If there is a need to lift the drive unit, use the rear
castor arm and the drive wheel. Caution should be
taken if the wheelchair is in freewheel.

5.3 Re-Assembling

Replace the backrest into the receivers and tighten the
lever screws carefully. If required reconnect the remote
controller. Attach the hangers. Make sure your freewheel
mechanisms are engaged. Now you are ready to drive the
wheelchair.
WARNING!
• Never lift the wheelchair by the armrests or the leg
rests, since they are detachable and harm could be
done to the user or to the wheelchair.

5.4 Brake release

By rotating the red lever inwards on both sides of the motor
the brakes are released from the motors.
DANGER!
• The Brake release is only to be used in an emergency
power breakdown situation e.g. Where a large distance
has to be covered to get the user home or into a safe
environment.
• Brake release can also be used if a complete and
catastrophic loss of power such as control system
failure or battery failure has occurred.
• Brake release should not be habitually used as a
means of transporting the user as if in a manual
wheelchair.
• When the power wheelchair is functioning normally, the
brake release should only be used to park or store the
unoccupied wheelchair .
• Never push the occupied power wheelchair up or down
a slope with the Brake release in operation.
