such that operation of one pump only is not s ufficient, the sec ond pump with Brio Top (SLAVE dev ice) is
started up. O n progressive c losure of the util ities , the reduction in the s ystem flow rate leads first to the
shutdown of the secondary pump on whic h the Brio Top is ins talled, later followed by the va riable speed
pump on which Sirio is ins talled. The f low rate le vel at wh ic h the secondary pump is shut down depends
on the value set in the parameter "Deactivation threshold" of the Brio Top; a higher value in this
parameter leads to a quicker deactivation of the second pump, while a lower value maintains the
"SLAVE" pump in operation even at lower flow rates .
If Sirio, i.e. the current MASTER devic e, shuts down due to a power failure, or blocks due to a fault,
sys tem control is trans ferred to the Brio Top device, which then immediately becomes the new MASTER
to enable the system to c ontinue operation. However, in this cas e operation at c ons tant pres sure is no
longer guaranteed, as there is no variable s peed device. It is rec ommended to install an expans ion
ves sel of at leas t 5-8 litres , to prevent, in the event of a fault on the Sirio devic e, Brio Top from activat ing
exc es sively frequent s tart-ups.
The programmed values of Pmin and Pmax must be the same on both devices.

INST ALLAT ION: install the Brio Top
on the delivery line of the s ec ondary
pump and the Sirio in verter on the
main variable s peed pump. Connec t
the outlet connector of each device to
the delivery manifold without inserting
any type of check valve. Connect the
intake lines of the pumps to the
common suction manifold, inserting a
check valve for each pump to prevent
drainage when stopped. Brio Top and
Sirio can be mounted vertically or
horizontally.
CONNECT IO N: the connec tion between the Brio Top
a nd Sirio devic es is by means of an uns hielded cable

O PERATIO N: when switc hed on, the Sirio device
always sets to MASTER s tatus and is ass igned the
role of main controller. O n opening of the utilities,
Sirio starts up the pump first; if the water demand is
