- Translation of the original instructions
- Check that the electric supply is disconnected
- Put the motor (1) in vertical position as shown in the figure.
- Check manually the free rotation of the motor shaft (2) in both directions as
shown in figura.
- Unscrew the two screws (3), and, by using the proper container, fill the motor
with clean water till the water comes out from the holes (3).
- Caution: this operation has to be done very slowly to enable the air come out
form the holes.
- Rescrew the two screws (3)
WARNING!
Do not use the motor/group if the power cable in damaged.
CHECKING THE GROUP
Group provided uncoupled:
WARNING!
Before performing the coupling, make sure that the motor shaft and the pump shaft rotate freely, check the clean-
liness and integrity of the coupling surfaces
Complete and coupled electric pump:
WARNING!
check the free rotation of the shafts acting on the coupling between pump and motor.
MOTOR AND PUMP COUPLING
This operation is necessary if the pump and the motor are provided uncoupled.
For motors with shaft U protection, remove this before the coupling.
Before coupling pump and motor, check that the ground cable is connected to the motor in the right position. Refer
to TAB.III
Do not energize the motor before you complete the installation. For checking the direction of rotation refer to the
specific paragraph.
In the case where it is necessary to supply voltage to the motor before coupling it to the pump:
To couple the submersible motor pump: Place the motor vertically with the shaft end facing upwards and lock it so that during cou-
pling can not move or fall, remove the nuts. Lifting the pump with an appropriate position above the motor doing the centering of
the respective flanges, then tighten with the nuts provided.
WARNING!
Do not damage the motor shaft during insertion into the joint of the pump.
Levering with a screwdriver on the coupling of the two trees, make sure the pump present a bit of axial play
WARNING!
toward the mouth of the pump.
Check the free rotation of the shafts acting on the coupling between pump and motor.
CABLES JUNCTION
In the event that the motor cable is necessary to add additional power cable:
Use a cable of suitable section depending on the length and type of starting:
 the cable section must be such that the voltage drop at the motor is not more than 5%.
 the current density does not exceed the allowable limit.
WARNING!
Refer to the tables of choice of cable available on the technical documentation SAER.
Use a cable with copper conductors and suitable for use for submersible pumps, consider also the type of cable
depending on the type of application (drinking water, salt water, the presence of oils etc ....).
WARNING!
To splice before installing the unit in the well or in the system (tank, shell, etc ..)
Keep the manual for future reference - For more informations visit www.saerelettropompe.com
→ Fix the motor with appropriate means to counter the starting torque,
→ Disconnect means or lifting devices that can get caught in the motor or shaft,
→ Pay attention to rotating parts (shaft end of the motor) and keep them at a suitable distance.
→ Check that ground and bond connections have been made properly.
