 Ensure that the motor has been ordered for the right mounting position:
WARNING!
The connection to the water supply must be done in the respect of the local and national standards of the place where the group is installed.
The installer and users must take the necessary measures to prevent sanitary risks relative to conveyed liquids.
CHECKS ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Verify that the electrical system corresponds to the CEI EN 60204-1 standard and to the local and national stan-
dards.
Verify:
 the existence of an earth connection;
 the presence of an isolating device (isolation) supply according to EN 60947. The selection and place-
 The presence of a differential switch: adjusting the differential must be the lowest values possible, consis-
 the presence of an emergency stop button.
Must be also present:
 a thermal protection device adjusted on a maximum absorbed current not higher than 5% the current
WARNING!
 A device of minimum voltage that protects from voltage drops.
 A device for protection against lightning surges or cause by the operation for the protection of the motor.
 A device for checking the phase sequence.
When it is expected that the water level in the well may vary substantially in relation to seasonal trend
or when one is forced to install the electric pump just below the dynamic water level
WARNING!
or when it is expected that the water flow will be missing into the well should be
installed a device against dry running.
For other limitations refer to the pump manual.
Make sure the power cable is suitable for immersed operation and that the section is suitable so as not to cause a

voltage drop of more than 5% and not exceed the maximum operating temperature.
CHECKING ON THE MOTOR
Check the insulation resistance of the motor into the following phases:
- Before performing the connection with the power cables (verification of the insulation resistance of the motor only);
- After performing the junction but before installing the unit (checking the insulation of the whole motor + junction + cables);
- After installing the unit (checking the insulation of the whole motor + junction + cables).
Measure the insulation resistance with a megohmmeter at 500 VDC.
Take the measurement between cables and earth.
The measurement of the insulation resistance is performed on an "cold" motor, values of motor temperature lowers considerably higher
values of insulation resistance.
TAB. VI – Minimum insulation resistence values
Condition
New motor, without junction, addictional cables and outside the water
New motor, with junction, addictional cables and immersed
Motor that has already operated, with junction, addictional cables and immersed
Motor that has already operated, without junction, additional cables and outside the
water, ready to be used
If the values are lower than the ones listed in TAB. IV, please contact the technical support.
MS series motors: the loss of a few drops of water from the compensation valve is normal: provide for topping up the liquid inside as
indicated below:
CL series engines: must be free of oil leaks.

Vertical position: permitted for all motors.
Horizontal or inclined position: permitted according to the power for the CL series motors, allowed only for
special versions and agreed at time of order for MS series motors.
In any mounting position, the pump must never be further down the motor.
ment of the device are the responsibility of the installer. The presence of an omni-polar switch disconnec-
tor that can disconnect all the feeding cables to insulate the motor in case of malfunction or small main-
tenance operations (the disconnection device from the supply mains must be over-voltage III category) is
recomended.
