1. Safety instructions:
For skilled electricians and trained personnel
in accordance with national legislation,
including the relevant standards and, where
applicable, in acc. with IEC/EN 60079-17 on electrical
apparatus for explosive atmospheres.
Observe the national safety rules and regulations for
prevention of accidents as well as the following
safety instructions which are marked with an (
these operating instructions!
- The motor vehicle charger must not be installed in a
hazardous location (acc IEC/EN 60079-0)!
- The indications on the motor vehicle charger are to
be observed!
- Modifications to the motor vehicle charger or
changes of its design are not permitted!
-The motor vehicle charger shall only be used for its
intended purpose and in perfect condition!
- For replacing components, only genuine Cooper
Crouse-Hinds (CCH)/CEAG spare parts may be used!
- Repairs may only be carried out by CCH/CEAG or a
qualified "electrician"!
-This motor vehicle charger may only be used in
conjunction with series SEB. searchlights (Also see
the operating instructions of the respective lamps).
- Non-rechargeable batteries (dry batteries) must not
be put in the charger!
2. Conformity with standards:
They have been designed, manufactured and tested according
to the state of the art and to DIN EN ISO 9001 and
EN ISO/IEC 80079-34.
The apparatus are conform to the standards specified in the
EC-Declaration of conformity, enclosed separately.
References to standards and directives in these operating
instructions always relate to the latest version. Other additions
(e.g. details relating to the year) shall be observed.

4. Description and application:
The motor vehicle charger serves for charging and storing
series SEB. searchlights (also see the operating instructions of
the respective lamps).
It is fitted with two single leas (+ > red) and (- > brown) each
apx. 450 mm long.
The lamps are kept in place vibration-proof by means of two
holding brackets the height of which can be adjusted (insert
the lamp obliquely from the front into the vehicle charger with
the light aperture directed forward, then push it backwards
home and lock it in place).
Charging the lamps:
The lamps may be charged outside of hazardous areas
only!
As to the charging function and charging process, see the
operating instructions of the lamp on charge.
5. Mounting
At option, the KFZ 90 motor vehicle charger can be fastened
by means of 3 screws through its back wall or by means of 4
screws through its bottom (fastening holes 5 mm Ø).
1. Plug in the holding brackets and screw them
down with each one screw, fig. 1, (two height
adjustments, depending on the lamp, bracket
cams pointing to the outside).
2. Fasten the KFZ 90 motor vehicle charger and
connect it to an adequate fuse on the vehicle
power supply system (the 2 A blade-type fuse
protects the built-in circuitry on the + -lead).
