If a battery switch will be used to isolate the main power to
the electric motor (which is strongly recommended), drill
the required holes in the steel base of the driver's seat,
apply adequate anti-corrosive protection to the fresh per-
forations and mount the battery switch itself. [See Fig. 6.6]
Connect the long 35mm² (+) battery cable coming from
the power pack of the HTL, to one of the 2 poles of the
battery switch, and run a second shorter end of 35mm² (+)
battery cable from the other pole of the battery switch to
the vehicle battery.
Fasten all bolted connections to the battery
switch and the 300A fuse for the HTL (see be-
low) firmly. Loose and insufficient fitting can
lead to bad contact and overheating of the con-
nections, followed by premature failing of the
power circuit. Apply a thick layer of anti-
corrosive grease or Vaseline to all electric con-
nections, and use protection rubbers E0289 to
shield the exposed components against rain
and dirt. [See Fig. 6.7]
Guide the second shorter end of 35mm² (+) cable from the
battery switch to the vehicle battery. Mount the 300A fuse,
supplied with the HTL, to the positive pole of the vehicle
battery, and connect the 35mm² (+) battery cable to the
fuse. [See Fig. 6.8]
