SECTION 7: PROCEDURE
7.1 Sterilize the handpiece adapter before using, following the separate Infection Control Procedures provided.
7.2 Hang infuser bag from an IV pole or similar apparatus.
The infuser bag should be higher than the patient's head.
7.3 Close the bleed valve on the inflation bulb attached to the infuser bag.
7.4 Insert a 500 ml IV bag of desired sterile lavage solution in the
infuser bag clear sleeve. Install with the seal of the
IV bag down.
7.5 To be used with an IV Administration Set with Universal Spike, slide clamp, and roller clamp for flow adjustment.
Open the sterile IV administration tubing set and ensure that the slide clamp is closed. Install the spike in the IV
solution bag. Ensure there are no leaks.
7.6 Attach the delivery end of the tubing set on the barbed connector on the side of the handpiece adapter as shown
in 7.7. If the delivery end is fitted with a luer lock or similar fitting, remove the fitting using sterile scissors or
scapel and attach the end of the tubing to the adapter.
