3 Product Description

3.1 Function

A measuring wheel system is the ideal solution for reliable
speed, position and distance measurement in applications
with linear movement. These motions are measured rotation-
ally by the encoder mounted on the measuring wheel, and
converted into measurement data.
A spring integrated in the mechanics ensures the contact
pressure of the measuring wheel on the measured surface
that is necessary for reliable measurement value acquisition.

NOTICE
Thanks to its compact design, the system is also suitable for
tightest installation spaces; it can be installed quickly and
easily horizontally, vertically or overhead.

3.2 Use According to the Intended Purpose

The measuring wheel system may only be used for coupling
a rotation angle, position or speed sensor to the application.

3.3 Foreseeable Misuse

The measuring system is not suitable for the following uses:
• Under water.
• In publicly accessible areas.
• Outside of the specifications stated in the data sheet..
