Ventilation Plug (Picture C3)
The ventilation plug has a red ring around a black plug cover. To tap into a keg with a
ventilation plug, the auxiliary tool (27) and the universal adapter which is also supplied
is required.
1. Vent the beer keg. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the beer keg to do this.
2. Remove the plug cover with a vigorous tug.
3. To remove the seal plug, place the auxiliary tool beneath the seal ring and press
both handles together forcefully until the seal plug has been cut through (Picture D).
PLEASE NOTE: The lower half of the seal which drops into the beer has no effect on
the taste and is harmless to health.
4. Once the seal plug has been removed, insert the universal adapter into the keg
(Picture E).
The universal adapter can be reused once it has been appropriately cleaned.
Take off the universal adapter before disposing of the empty beer keg!
Fresh Keg
The fresh keg has an integrated valve on the top of the keg.
PLEASE NOTE: On fresh kegs no seal plug needs to be removed and therefore no tool
or universal adapter is required.
1. Remove the seal cap from the keg.
2. Press the fresh keg adapter (25) onto the valve in the keg (Picture F). Ensure that it
fi ts securely.
Tapping Into and Connecting the Beer Keg
PLEASE NOTE: In the case of a fresh keg, continue from the "Connecting a Fresh Keg"
section.
1. Check the lid of the beer keg for any dents or deformations. PLEASE NOTE: The
mount (23) of the tapping unit (17) can only engage on the lid of the beer keg if it is
not damaged in any way.
2. Prepare the keg for tapping (see "Preparing the Beer Keg").
3. Dip the tapping sword (22) into cold, clear water for a short time.
4. Place the tapping sword vertically onto the seal plug or into the opening of the uni-
versal adapter (28) and press it forcefully and swiftly down into the beer keg until its
mount (23) locks into place on both sides of the keg with an audible click (Picture G).
5. Make sure that the pressure regulator (15) is at its limit stop in the – position, the tap
handle (2) is vertical (Picture H) and the device is switched off (switch position 0).
6. Open the lid (14) by pressing the release button (1).
7. Grip the beer keg by the mount (23) for the tapping unit and insert it into the cooling
container (11). PLEASE NOTE: The valve for the beer line (24) must be directed
forwards towards the tap (see also the arrow on the valve unit [20]).
8. Press the beer keg down fi rmly on the suction pad.
9. Place the adapter for the beer line (18) into the corresponding valve (24) and the
valve for the CO
engage audibly.
