3 RECORDING MEDIUM CONTENTS
(1) Formats
2 The DN-V750/V755 is only compatible with FAT 16 and FAT 32
formats.
It will not operate properly with other formats, such as FAT 12
or NTFS.
In addition, the DN-V750/V755 is compatible with cluster *
sizes of 2 kilobytes or greater.
If the capacity of the recording medium is under 2 GB, use a
card with a FAT 16 format.
For partition types, the DN- V750/V755 is only compatible with
the "primary partition", not with the "extended partition".
Cluster size
Cluster size refers to the minimum unit of file data. This is
also called "allocation unit size".
To check the cluster size, run Scan Disc in a Windows
environment with a card drive and check the "Allocation Unit
Size" indicated at this time.
(2) Video and audio formats of playback files
The DN-V750/V755 is compatible with the formats below
conforming to MPEG standards.

he maximum bit rate value is as per the DN-V750/V755's
T
performance. Depending on the performance of the
recording medium, with high bit rates the movie and sound
may not play properly.
Use image files encoded in frame structure.
Field structure files may not play properly.
We strongly recommend backing up all files, just in case.
(3) Directory (folder) and file structure
With the DN-V750/V755, data on the recording medium must be
recorded with the file names and directory (folder) structure
described below. Normal playback is not possible with other
structures or file names.
In particular, some editing programs give unique file extensions
when creating contents. Such extensions must be changed as
described below.
Do not record directories or files other than those with the
formats indicated for the DN-V750/V755's directory and file
structure. Doing so may prevent the DN-V750/V755 from
operating properly.
2 Giving file names
File names should consist of a maximum of 8 ASCII code
characters. Do not use long file names (with 9 or more
characters), as they will not operate properly. Letters must be
capital-small letters cannot be used.
Numbers: 0 to 9, letters: A to Z, Symbol: _
2 File name extensions
Set the extensions listed below according to the file's video or
audio recording format.
• Movie + sound program stream
• Movie-only elementary stream
• Still image elementary stream
• Audio-only MPEG1-Audio Layer 2
• Audio-only 16 bit Linear PCM
• Script file (file containing playback procedure) : DSC
2 Directory (folder) structure
Files should be placed in the directories indicated below
according to their recorded content. (" *** " indicates the file
name.)
Two files must not have the same file names. A maximum of
999 files can be placed in the VIDEO, SCRIPT and AUDIO
directories. A maximum of 9999 files can be placed in the
PICTURE directory. Always create the VIDEO, SCRIPT, AUDIO
and PICTURE directories (in capital letters), whether or you put
files in them. (These directories are created automatically
when the medium is formatted on the DN-V750/V755.)
We recommend unifying the mpg, mpa and wav audio
sampling frequency (fs = 48 or 44.1 kHz). If two files with
different sampling frequencies are played consecutively, the
operation to switch the sampling frequency must be
performed, so the sound or picture will pause for about 1
second.
