WARNING
A worn grass bag could allow small stones and
other similar debris to be thrown in the operator's or
bystanders' direction and result in serious personal
injury or death to the operator or bystanders.
Check the grass bag frequently. If it is damaged,
install a new Toro replacement bag.
WARNING
The blade is sharp; contacting the blade can result
in serious personal injury.
Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop
before leaving the operating position.
Installing the Grass Bag
1. Lift up the rear deflector (Figure 15).

2. Insert the grass bag handle onto the notches on the
handle brackets and make sure that it is well seated
(Figure 15).
Removing the Grass Bag
1. Lift up the rear deflector (Figure 15).
2. Lift the grass bag handle out from the notches on the
handle brackets and remove the bag from the machine.
3. Close the rear deflector.

Discharging the Clippings

Use the rear-discharge deflector for cutting very tall grass.
Installing the Rear-Discharge Deflector
1. If the bag is on the machine, remove it.

2. Lift up the rear deflector and hold it (Figure 16).

3. Insert the tab on the rear-discharge deflector into the
right-hand slot in the rear deflector (Figure 17).

4. Insert the rod on the rear-discharge deflector into the
notches on the machine (Figure 18).

Removing the Rear-Discharge Deflector
To remove the rear-discharge deflector, reverse the steps
above.
