Some common glueing defects
Gaps in glue film
Check:
- Running temperature
- Roller temperature
- Adhesive level in tank
Nail head
Cover too weak for
the paper in the clamp.
Cover press too light

Trouble shooting

Possible reasons
- emergency knob
activated
- Drum temperature low
- 17 switched OFF
- 17 switched ON
- Drum temperature low
- Cover is missing or
wrongly positioned
- Cover station blocked
up in upper position
- Sheets not well pressed Check presence of sheet support
in carriage
Honeycomb film
Feather on book spine
Check:
Adhesive and/or roller
- Glue and roller temperature
temperature too low
- Level of adhesive in tank
- Moisture in cover or book stock
Cavity spine
Cover press too light. Cover press too light.
Sharpen knife Knives blunt.
Remedy
Release knob
Switch on drum heating key
Wait for black pointer
to reach green mark
Wait for black pointer to
reach red mark
Check and correct
Switch drum heating key 18
off and on again.
Press the green buttons.
open carriage - check switch
Cover feed not square
with cover clamp.
