2.2 Mounting

The SIWAREX JB junction box can be mounted in any
position. It is fastened using four M6 screws. The
drilling template included in the delivery can be used
for drilling mounting holes.
The screw-type connections are mounted according to
the number of load cells and how the junction box is
used. Unused drilled cable holes must be closed using
screw plugs.
The cable shield must be applied to the EMC screw-
type connections included in the delivery (Fig. 5,
Page 88). This avoids most EMC problems.
When there is a danger of equipotential bonding
current,
- an equipotential bonding conductor must be
connected to the PAL terminal (Fig. 3,4; Page 87)
(mandatory when used in potentially explosive
areas, see 4.3) or
- the junction box must be isolated or
- the application of the cable shield must be
capacitive (ceramic capacitor C ≤ 10nF /
test voltage ≥ 1500 V).
Only in exceptional circumstances should the shield be
connected via the shield terminals. It should be noted
that this will diminish the EMC.
CAUTION Before closing the cover, please
ensure that no dirt or cable
pieces that could lead to faults
or short circuits remain in the
housing.
