load or when the temperature of the battery 14 is ex-
ceeding 70°C The system guarantees protection of
the power tool from damage in case of noncompliance
with the operation conditions When this protection
system is activated - three indicators 13 fast blinking 2
times (see fig. 12.1).
Overheating protection
Overheating protection system of the engine automati-
cally switches off the power tool in case of overheat-
ing In this situation, let the tool cool before turning the
power tool on again When this protection system is ac-
tivated - three indicators 13 fast blinking 3 times (see
fig. 12.1).
Overload protection
Overload protection system of the engine automatical-
ly switches off the power tool when it is operated in a
manner that causes it to draw an abnormally high cur-
rent When this protection system is activated - three
indicators 13 fast blinking 5 times (see fig. 12.1).
Restart protection
If you install the battery 14 while holding on / off
switch 11 in pressed position, the power tool does
not start, because restart protection will work When
this protection system is activated - three indicators 13
fast blinking 7 times (see fig. 12.1). To switch on the
power tool, first turn it off as described above.
Overdischarge protection
The battery 14 is protected by the safety system
against deep discharge In case of complete dis-
charge, the power tool is automatically switched off
When this protection system is activated - one indi-
cator 13 fast blinking (see fig. 12.2). Attention: do
not try to switch on the power tool when the pro-
tection system is activated the battery 14 can be
damaged.
Soft start
Soft start enables smooth start of power tools - the
spindle is being run up gradually with no jerks and
kickbacks; no jump-like load is imposed on the motor
upon switching
Break rundown
Break rundown stops the spindle of the power tool
within 2 seconds after the power tool is turned off
LED lamp
When the on / off switch 11 is pushed, the LED lamp 6
is automatically switched on that allows to carry out
works in low light conditions
Rotation speed stabilization system
The stabilization system maintains the preset RPM
both at an idle speed and under load This allows for
the smooth advance of the power tool during opera-
tion
Function switch (see fig. 13)
Switching the operation modes shall be
carried out only in the off mode of the
tool's motor.
Function switch 8 is designed for the switching the
following operation modes of the tool:
Drilling (set the function switch 8 in the position in-
dicated in figure 13.1) - non-impact drilling in wood,
synthetics, metal
Impact drilling (set the function switch 8 in the po-
sition indicated in figure 13.2) - impact drilling in ma-
sonry, concrete, natural stone
Chisel rotation (set switch 8 in the position shown on
figure 13.3) - this mode does not allow operating your
power tool, but allows setting the chisel in a comfort-
able position for chiseling works
Chiselling (set the function switch 8 in the position in-
dicated in figure 13.4) - chiselling ducts in masonry,
concrete, stone, removing ceramic tiles
In order to make switching between the
operation modes smoother, rotate slight-
ly chuck 1 (SDS PLUS) by hand.
Stepless speed adjustment
Speed is controlled from 0 to maximum by
pressing force of on / off switch 11 Weak
pressing results in low revolutions, which
enable a smooth power tool switch-on
Changing the rotational directions
Change the direction of rotation only
after a full stop of the motor, acting oth-
erwise may cause damage to the power
tool.
Rotation to the right (drilling, screwing in) - move
the rotational direction switch 10 to the left
Rotation to the left (unscrewing) - move the rota-
tional direction switch 10 to the right
on the power tool operation
Wear thick soft gloves when working to
reduce vibration impact on your body.
• Always use additional handle 4 when working, it will
ensure a better control of your power tool and reduce
recoil
• At impact drilling the result does not depend on the
pressing force you apply to your power tool, which is
due to the impact mechanism design This is why do
not exert excessive pressure on your power tool, as it
may result in borer seizing and motor overload
• In order to decrease dust production when drilling
holes in walls and ceilings, take actions indicated in
fig. 14.1-14.2.
