In addition, the brown cable for the parking light and the red cable for the daytime
running light have to be connected using individual plug connectors. The earth
connection is provided by the green cable of the H4 connector.
If you cannot use the H4 connector, care must be taken to make sure individual
cables are fitted with proper short-circuit-proof vehicle connectors. Never use
ordinary terminal blocks. After connecting up, it is imperative to check that the
electrical system and all functions are working correctly before you set off.
The LED main headlight may have a different wattage than the original
(12 V / 15 W low beam, 27 W high beam, 2 W parking light, 10 W
daytime running light). This may cause the output of an error message
on an electric system that is centrally computer-controlled or fitted
with a CAN bus system (such as BMW models from 2006 onwards). In this case
the wattage difference will need to be offset with resistors. The required resistors
are determined using the following formula:
Required resistance R (in ohms) is equal to the square of the electrical system
voltage divided by the watt difference between the old and the new headlight unit.

Alternatively, two 7.5 Ohm resistors can be installed in parallel.
The original wattage can be found either on the original bulb itself, in the vehicle
handbook or possibly on the headlight lens.
If the vehicle so far has not featured a daytime running light, it must be
connected so that it is activated automatically when the ignition is switched
on. The low beam is best switched over automatically in accordance with the
intensity of the ambient light using a daytime running light sensor (available for
purchase separately). The daytime running light must go out automatically when
the low beam or the high beam light is switched on in order to prevent dazzling
other road users. This does not apply when flashing your headlight.

4.4 | Adjusting the headlight

For optimal and glare-free illumination, the gazzini LED Main Headlight should be
professionally adjusted in a motorcycle workshop with the aid of headlight beam
setters.
