6.8 Alarm and relay connections

Identify the relay and alarm terminal and the serial
line terminal on the board (J3, J9, 6.4 Connector
board description, page 18).
Use a shielded cable to carry out the connection.
Connect the shield to the COM on the Pan & Tilt side
and to the earth on the operator side.
The unit is equipped with the alarms and relays
indicated in the table.

The maximum length of the alarm cables is as
follows:: 200m (656ft). Use cables with the following
characteristics: shielded cable, minimum diameter
0.25mm² (23AWG).
• Slide the cables through the entry device.
• Take the J3 removable female connector from the
connectors board and connect the alarm wires to
it.
• Plug the cabled connector to J3 plug.

The dry contact alarm can be NO (normally open) or
NC (normally closed).
For further information refer to the relative chapter (
9.2.10 Digital I/O, page 32).

6.8.2 Relay connection

The relays are usable with the specifications
described below. Working tension: up
to 30Vac or 60Vdc. Current: 1A max. Use
suitable cable sections with the following
characteristics: from 0.25mm² (23AWG) up
to 1.5mm² (15AWG).
Relays do not have polarity and therefore both
terminals of the same relay can be swapped for
indifferently or continuous current voltages.
If the relay is connected to the wash unit it can be
configured via the web interface (9.2.12 Washer,
page 32).
• Slide the cables through the entry device.
• Take the J3 removable female connector from the
connectors board and connect the relays wires to
it.
• Plug the cabled connector to J3 plug.
Alternatively, the relay can be configured via VMS
(Video Management System), ONVIF S protocol.
