b) Adjusting the tooth profile clearance
The tooth profile clearance must be correctly set before you first use the vehicle.
To do so, loosen the two fastening screws on the electric motor so that you can move the motor with slight pressure in
the direction of the main pinion (only loosen the screws slightly, don't fully remove them!). The cog/pinion cover may
need to be removed prior to this.
The motor pinion and the main drive gear now engage without clearance.
Insert a thin paper strip between the motor pinion and the main pinion and rotate the main pinion manually in such a
way that the paper strip is pulled in between both pinions.
The paper positioned between the cogs lifts the electric motor as far as is necessary to ensure the correct clearance.
Now tighten the attachment screws of the motor again.
When you turn back the main drive gear afterwards so that the paper strip can be taken out again, the correct clearance
should be apparent between the cogs.
Ideally the pinion should be as close as possible to the main cog without the teeth touching.
If the cogs (pinion and main cog) are too far apart, then even a few seconds driving will destroy the main
cog's teeth - this voids your guarantee!
If the pinion is pushing too hard against the main cog (gears run with no clearance) then there will be a loss
of performance along with increased energy use and a premature use of the main cog.
Check after each use that the tooth clearance is correct; it is possible that the motor has come loose or been moved
due to vibrations.
c) Changing the crystal
There is not allowed to be any other transmitter/models with the same frequency in the range of the transmitter, as the
transmitters will interfere with each other. As a result, the models no longer respond correctly to the transmitter commands.
If there are other model vehicles in your range, talk to the other operators about the frequencies they use.
Only use suitable accessory crystals for the transmitter and the receiver.
Before changing a crystal, first turn off the vehicle and then the remote control (transmitter).
Transmitter crystals are marked with "T" or "TX", receiver crystals with "R" or "RX". Don't mix up the crystals, as
otherwise the model won't function correctly.
