c) Adjusting the Shock Absorbers
Figure 6 (Front Axle)
The shock absorbers at the front and rear vehicle axles can be mounted in different positions at the lower wishbone
(A) or the damper bridge (B).
The spring-pre-tension at the upper end of the shock absorber (C) can be adjusted with a knurled screw.
Always set the shock absorbers for one axle evenly (at the left and right wheels of the front or rear axle). Otherwise,
driving behaviour will be influenced negatively.
If the setting is too stiff, the vehicle will jump even on a small unevenness, and the wheels will lose touch with the
ground. This will cause a lower acceleration. When the setting is too soft, the vehicle will rebound too strongly, and the
chassis will touch the ground.
Optional accessories (not included in the delivery; can be ordered separately) that can be used include
springs with a different stiffness or damper oil of a different viscosity for filling the shock absorbers.
Just as with a "real" car, the shock absorbers (or the rubber seals in them) on the model car are a wearing part. If oil is
running from the shock absorbers (e.g. lower wishbone strongly oiled, dripping traces), the seals or shock absorbers
must be replaced.
