For your own safety and bystanders please read these instructions before operating the grass trimmer. Do not use the grass trimmer without reading the instruction sheet. Please keep the instructions safe for later use.

    ELECTRICAL INFORMATION WARNING TO AVOID ELECTRICAL HAZARDS, FIRE HAZARDS, OR DAMAGE TO THE TOOL, USE PROPER CIRCUIT PROTECTION. YOUR GRASS TRIMMER IS WIRED AT THE FACTORY FOR 120V OPERATION. CONNECT TO A 120 V, 15 A CIRCUIT, AND USE A 15 A TIME-DELAYED FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER.
  • Page 7 ELECTRICAL INFORMATION GUIDELINES FOR USING EXTENSION CORDS USE THE PROPER EXTENSION CORD. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. An undersized cord will cause overheating. The table below shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating.

  • Page 10 ASSEMBLY WARNING Before assembly, make sure that the grass trimmer is switched off and unplugged. FITTING THE GUARD 1. Fit the debris guard into the slots on the trimmer housing and align the screw holes in the debris guard with those in the trimmer head. Place the guard in position (Fig. 1). 2.
  • Page 11 ASSEMBLY FITTING THE ASSIST HANDLE Loosen and remove the wing nut and bolt from the assist handle. 1. Place the assist handle on the upper shaft. Adjust the handle to mount on the index channel as shown (Fig. 5). 2. Along the index channel, slide the assist handle to the most comfortable position (Fig. 6). 3.
  • Page 12 ASSEMBLY PREPARING THE TRIMMER FOR USE NOTE: Use only approved outdoor extension cords. 1. Attach the outlet end of an extension cord to the plug on the rear of the grass trimmer. 2. Route the extension cord through the slot located on the rear of the grass trimmer housing and place underneath the cord retainer.

    OPERATION HINT FOR OPTIMUM USE In order to achieve optimum cutting results, only cut dry grass. TRIMMING 1. Hold the grass trimmer. Gently swing the trimmer from side to side (Fig. 10). 2. When cutting long grass, work in stages from top to bottom in small sections.
  • Page 14 OPERATION ADVANCING LINE NOTE: The trimmer is equipped with an auto-feed head. Do not bump the head or try to advance the line. This will damage the trimmer and void the warranty. 1. With the trimmer running, release the on/off switch. 2.

    MAINTENANCE Your grass trimmer has been designed to operate over a long period of time with minimum maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning. WARNING Before performing any maintenance, switch off and unplug the tool. Regularly clean the ventilation slot in your grass trimmer using a soft brush or dry cloth.

Fixez l'extrémité de sortie d'un cordon prolongateur à la prise située à l'arrière du coupe-bordures. 2. Faites passer le cordon prolongateur à travers la fente située au dos du boîtier du coupe-bordures, puis placez-le sous le support de cordon.
