Intended purpose

The Juzo Ulcer System treatment set is a medical com-
pression stocking system for the treatment of crural ulcers
(Ulcus cruris) and contains two compression stockings that
are used in combination with one another. The Juzo Ulcer
System treatment set comprises a cover stocking (Juzo
Ulcer Dynamic) and two liner stockings (Juzo Ulcer Liner)
that are used in alternation* and serve to hold in place the
wound dressing or bandage. When putting on the Juzo
Ulcer Liner, make sure there are no creases in it and the
bandage or wound dressing doesn't slip. These two stock-
ing components may be used as follows: The liner stocking
can be worn day and night on the affected leg for contin-
uous compression. The cover stocking is worn on top of
the liner stocking during the day to increase the level of
compression. Compression therapy involves measures to
apply extensive, external pressure to treat vein problems
and lymph drainage disorders. The aim of the extensive
pressure is to prevent the formation of oedema and to
support venous return and lymph drainage. Compression
garments exert an optimal pressure gradient that gradual-
ly decreases from bottom to top.
Notes for use
For compression stockings/tights with open toes, use the
Juzo Slippie donning aid. Your specialist retailer will gladly
show you the correct way to apply the product. You can
also visit www.juzo.com/donning for video instructions
relating to all Juzo donning aids. Put on your compression
garments in the morning straight after you get out of bed.
Rough, unfiled finger nails or sharp-edged rings etc. may
damage the very fine knitted fabric. We therefore recom-
mend the use of Juzo special gloves. Toe nails and calluses
can cause damage, as can defective inner lining of shoes.
Putting on the stockings (figs. 1 – 8)
1. To put on the liner stocking, roll the stocking over your
forearm and continue to grasp the foot area with your
fingers from the inside while doing so. Pull the stocking
off your forearm to turn it inside out down to the heel.
Now use both hands to stretch the foot opening and
slip the foot portion over the foot to the instep. Make
sure the knitted heel area is located on your heel.
2. Gradually slip the liner stocking over your foot – there-
by turning it the right way round again.
3. Now pull up the stocking evenly and creasefree –
without twisting it or pulling on the top band – and use
the flat of your hand to shape the stocking to your leg.
If you pull the stocking up too far, simply slide it back
down to your ankle and slip it up your leg again with
less tension this time.
4. Now pull the enclosed Juzo Slippie Donning Aid over
the foot until the shorter tab is located over your instep
and the longer tab is located on the sole of your foot.
5. Next pull the cover stocking over the Juzo Slippie
Donning Aid until the knitted heel area is located on
your heel. While doing so, make sure that the end of
the donning aid continues to extend out the front of the
stocking opening in the toe area.
6. Next slide the cover stocking upwards in sections
towards the knee while using a flat hand to shape it to
your leg. Please note that the best wearing comfort is
obtained when the top band of the cover stocking is
located approx. 2 cm below the liner stocking.
7. Finally, remove the Juzo Slippie donning aid by pulling
it forwards out of the foot portion.
Taking off the stockings (figs. 9 – 10)
Do not take both stockings off at the same time, instead
first fold down the cover stocking, then pull it down over
the calf and carefully over the heel, instep and foot. Once
you have taken off the cover stocking completely, repeat
these steps to take off the liner stocking.
Please note:
Only wear compression garments if they have been pre-
scribed by a doctor. Compression garments should only be
dispensed by properly trained staff at a medical retailer.
Your Juzo compression garments are largely resistant to
oils, ointments, skin moisture and other environmental
influences. The durability of the knitted fabric may be af-
fected by certain combinations of the above. This is why it
is advisable to have your compression garments checked
regularly at a medical retailer. Please contact your spe-
cialist retailer in the event of damage. Do not repair the
product yourself – this may affect its quality and medical
effectiveness. For hygiene reasons, this product is intend-
ed for one person only.
Washing and care instructions
Please note the care instructions on the textile label sewn
into your compression garment or the printed information.
Do up any fasteners (if there are any) before washing! We
recommend turning compression garments inside out
before washing. Wash compression garments separately
when washing for the first time (they may lose colour). If
possible, your compression garments should be washed
every day on a gentle or delicate wash cycle (40°C). Tip:
a laundry net provides additional protection for the knit-
ted fabric. Please do not use fabric softener! When hand
washing, rinse well and do not wring. We recommend the
gentle Juzo special detergent. You can reduce drying time
by placing the compression garment on a thick towel after
washing, tightly rolling the towel up and firmly pressing out
excess moisture. Then hang up the compression garment
loosely. Do not leave the product in the towel and do not
dry it on a radiator or in the sun. Please use the delicates
setting when drying in a tumble dryer (suitable for tum-
ble-drying: see textile label). Juzo compression garments
are not suitable for dry cleaning.
