Threading the Machine

• Threading the machine
* Raise the thread take-up lever q to its highest position
by turning the handwheel counterclockwise.
* Raise the presser foot lifter.
* Place a spool on the spool pin, with the thread coming
off the back of spool (refer to page 18).
z Draw the end of the thread around the upper thread
guide w.
x While holding the thread near the spool, draw the end
of the thread down around the check spring holder e.
c Firmly draw the thread up from right to left over the
take-up lever r, and down into the take-up lever eye.
v Then draw the thread down and slip it into the lower
thread guide t.
b Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread guide y
on the left.
n Thread the needle u from front to back, or use a
needle threader.
