5. Before starting the equipment

Warning!
Always remove the battery pack before ma-
king adjustments to the equipment.
Danger! Do not fi t the battery until the equipment
has been fully assembled and all the settings
have been actuated. Always wear protective
gloves when working on the equipment to protect
yourself against injury.
Use the cutter rail guard (Fig. 2/ Item 14)
5.1 Fitting the shoulder strap
Fig. 3: Attach the carabiner hooks (Item A) of the
shoulder strap to the shoulder strap attachments
(Item 4/4a).
5.2 Fitting the cutter rail and the saw chain
1. (Fig. 4) Use the SW 13 multifunction tool
(Item 15) to remove the fastening screw for
the chain wheel cover (Item 8).
2. Remove the chain wheel cover.
3. (Fig. 5) Lay the saw chain (Item 13) in the
groove which runs around the cutter rail (Item
12).
4. (Fig. 6) Insert the cutter rail (Item 12) and
the saw chain (Item 13) into the mount of the
pole-mounted pruner. At the same time guide
the saw chain around the chain wheel (Item
B) and hook the cutter rail into the chain ten-
sioning bolt (Item C).
5. Fit the chain wheel cover and tighten the fas-
tening screw hand-tight.
Note: Do not fully tighten the fastening screw until
after you have adjusted the chain tension (see
section 5.3).

5.3 Tensioning the saw chain

1. Slacken the fastening screw for the chain
wheel cover slightly (use the SW 13 multi-
function tool).
2. (Fig. 7) Adjust the tension of the saw chain by
using the 4mm multifunction tool (Item 15) to
turn the chain tensioning screw (Item D). Tur-
ning the screw clockwise increases the chain
tension, turning it counter-clockwise decre-
ases the chain tension. The chain tension is
correct when the chain can be lifted by about
2 mm at the center of the cutter bar (Fig. 8).
3. Tighten the fastening screw for the chain
wheel cover (use the SW 13 multifunction
tool).

Danger! All the chain links must lie properly in
the guide groove of the cutter bar.
Notes on tensioning the chain:
The saw chain must be properly tensioned to
ensure safe operation. You can tell that the chain
tension is perfect if the saw chain can be lifted by
around 2 mm in the middle of the cutter rail (Fig.
8). As the saw chain heats up during cutting and
thus changes in length, check the chain tension
no less than every 10 minutes and adjust it again
as required. This applies in particular to new saw
chains. When you have fi nished working slacken
the chain again, as the chain will shorten when it
cools down. This will prevent the chain from being
damaged.
5.4 Extension tube
The cordless pole-mounted pruner can be as-
sembled either with or without the extension tube
(Fig. 2 / Item 11).
5.4.1 Assembly with the extension tube
1. (Fig. 9, 10) Make sure that the mounting
screws (Item E) are on the same side and in-
sert the tube with motor housing (Item 7) into
the extension tube (Item 11). Screw the two
tubes together with the lock nut (Item 6)
2. (Fig. 11) Insert the extension tube (Item 11)
into the tube with the handle (Item 10) and
screw the two tubes together with the lock nut
(Item 6).
(Fig. 12) The pole-mounted pruner has now
been screwed together.
5.4.2 Assembly without the extension tube
Insert the tube with the motor housing (Fig. 2 /
Item 7) into the tube with the handle (Fig. 2 / Item
10) and screw the two tubes together with the uni-
on nut. The pole-mounted pruner has now been
screwed together (Fig. 1).
5.5 Saw chain lubrication
Warning! Always remove the battery from the
device before inspection and adjustment. Always
wear protective gloves when working on the
chainsaw to protect yourself against injury.
Important! (Fig. 13) Never operate the chain if
it is not lubricated with saw chain oil. Use of the
chainsaw without saw chain oil or if the oil level is
below the viewing window will result in damage to
the chainsaw!
