STARTING AND STOPPING THE MACHINE

Starting the machine
1.
Adjust the handlebar (1, Fig. C) by means of the
knobs (2).
2.
Ensure that the side broom (8, Fig. C) is completely
lifted.
3.
Place the petrol tap (1, Fig. U) in the ON position
without lifting the hood (5, Fig. C) but introducing the
hand in the compartment (29, Fig. C).
4.
Place the air lever (starter) (1, Fig. V) in the close
position (2) without lifting the hood (5, Fig. C) but
introducing the hand in the compartment (29, Fig. C).
NOTE
Do not use the starter lever if the engine is hot
and if the air temperature is sufficiently high.
5.
Turn the on/off key switch (2, Fig. B) in the I position.
6.
Pull slowly the engine pull-starter cord (27, Fig. C)
handle until a certain resistance is achieved; then pull
strongly and start the engine.
CAUTION!
Do not allow the cord (27, Fig. C) handle to
go back with strength but bring it back to its
position to prevent the engine from being
damaged.
CAUTION!
During the pull-starter cord handle (27, Fig.
C) engine start-up, do not pull the selector
lever (3, Fig. C).
WARNING!
The engine cannot be started by means of
the pull-starter cord handle (27, Fig. C)
when the hood (5, Fig. C) is lifted. A safety
system prevents the engine from starting.
NOTE
The engine running, the main broom always
rotates, while the side broom doesn't move if it
is lifted.

7.
After about 5 seconds the engine runs, disengage the
air lever (starter) (1, Fig. V) without lifting the hood (5,
Fig. C) but introducing the hand in the compartment
(29, Fig. C).
8.
Deactivate the pedal brake (25, Fig. C) (optional).
9.
Lower the side broom (8, Fig. C), disengage the
handle (10) from its retainer (11) and lower the handle
(without turning it).
NOTE
The side broom (8, Fig. C) can be lowered and
lifted also when the engine is running.
10. Pull the selector lever (3, Fig. C) with care until the
machine starts to move.
11. The speed is proportional to the pressure applied to
the selector lever (3, Fig. C).
Stopping the machine
1.
Release the selector lever (3, Fig. C) completely to
stop the machine.
2.
To the side broom (8, Fig. C) rotation, lift the handle
(10, Fig. C) (without turning it) and engage its retainer
(11).
3.
To stop the main broom (9, Fig. C) rotation and the
suction valve operation, turn the on/off key switch (2,
Fig. B) in the 0 position.
4.
Then, close the petrol tap (1, Fig. U) in its
compartment (29, Fig. C).
