STARTING AND STOPPING THE MACHINE

Starting the machine
1. Sit in the driver's seat (22, Fig. B) and, using the lever
(23), adjust the seat to a comfortable position.
2. Once in the driver's seat (22, Fig. B), insert the
ignition key on the switch (5, Fig. B); turn it to ST
position, without activating the forward/reverse gear
pedal (11), then release it (the key will come back to
ON position). If the green warning lights (16a, 16b,
16c, Fig. B) turn on, the battery is ready to be used.
3. If no green warning light turns on, take the ignition key
to OFF position and take it out. Recharge the battery
(refer to the procedure in the Maintenance chapter)
before proceeding with the machine start-up.
NOTE
Charge the batteries when the warning light
(16e, Fig. B) turns on and at the end of every
cleaning. Keeping the batteries charged
make their life last longer.
CAUTION!
When the batteries are discharged,
recharge them as soon as possible, as that
condition makes their life shorter. Check
for battery charge at least once a week.
CAUTION!
Do not go on working if the red warning
light (16e, Fig. B) is on: working with
discharged batteries shortens their life.
4. Release the parking brake using the lever (10, Fig. B)
and pushing the pedal (9).
5. Drive the machine to the working area, with the hands
upon the steering wheel (1, Fig. B); press the pedal
(11) on the front side to move forward and on the rear
side to move backward.
According to the pressure on the pedal the speed
increases from zero to the maximum value.
6. Make sure that the skirt control lever (18, Fig. B) is in
the open position (back).
7. Start the suction using the push-button (21, Fig. B).
8. Activate the brush rotation control lever (20, Fig. B):
– Forward, to rotate all the brushes;
– Backward, to rotate only the main brush.
9. Activate the lever (13, Fig. B) to lower the main brush.
10. If the side brush is already turning, lower it using the
push-button (14, Fig. B).
NOTE
The brushes (6 and 7, Fig. C) can be
activated, lowered, and lifted, when the
machine is moving. The brushes rotate even
when they are lifted.

11. To sweep, start the machine with the hands upon the
steering wheel (1, Fig. B) and press the pedal (11)
accordingly.
While working, the machine picks up both light
materials such as dust, paper, leaves, etc. and heavy
materials such as stones, etc.
Stopping the machine
1. To stop the machine, release the pedal (11, Fig. B).
To stop the machine quickly, press also the servo
brake pedal (9, Fig. B).
2. Turn the ignition key on the switch (5, Fig. B) to OFF
position, and take it off.
3. Engage the parking brake by pressing the pedal (9,
Fig. B) and activating the brake lock control lever
(10).

MACHINE OPERATION

1. Avoid stopping for a long time with the machine in the
same position and the brushes rotating: this could
create unwanted marks on the floor.
2. For the machine proper operation, the dust filter must
be as clean as possible. To clean it while sweeping,
proceed as follows:
– Close the suction using the push button (21, Fig.
B);
– Move the front skirt control lever (18, Fig. B) to the
closed position (forward);
– Push the filter-shaker push-button (15, Fig. B) for
a short time, open again the suction and the front
skirt.
Repeat the operation at least every ten minutes
while working (according to the area dusty condi-
tions).
NOTE
This operation can also be performed when
the machine is moving.
NOTE
When the dust filter is obstructed and/or the
waste container is full, the machine cannot
collect dust and debris anymore.
3. If the machine is used on wet grounds or if there are
fluids on the floor, it is recommended to close the
suction using the related push-button (21, Fig. B). To
prevent the closed pocket filter from dampening and
therefore losing its filtering capacities.
4. The waste container (9, Fig. C) should be emptied
after each working period and whenever it is full.
