Both the (OPT-TX51) transmitter and the (OPT- RX51) receiver can be fixed to the wall with the proper plastic supports.
The optical transmitter (OPT-TX51) must be connected to the 230 VAC power supply network.
The optical receiver (OPT- RX51) must be remotely powered by one of the four satellite inputs (maximum absorption of the
receiver: 240mA @ 14V).
After connecting all the cables into the transmitter and the receiver, the two units can be powered. The ON LED light (1. ON
LED LIGHT) of the optical transmitter (OPT-TX51) becomes green when the unit is powered correctly.
The OPT-TX51 Alarm LED becomes red when the laser power has become too low or when the optical output is missing.
We recommend having the unit inspected by Fracarro Radioindustrie S.p.a.
The ALARM LED of the OPT -RX51 receiver becomes red when the input optical power is low. We recommend checking the
input optical level.
Figure 1 shows an installation both of the transmitter and optical receiver. The insertion order of the satellite polarizations be-
tween the transmitter (OPT-TX51) and the receiver (OPT -RX51) are respected and shown on the device labels, see Fig.1.
The OPT-RX51 optical receiver must be powered by one of the four F output connectors of the satellite polarizations. When
it is necessary to re-amplify the output signal of the OPT- RX51, we recommend using an amplifier that allows for remote
powering. See Figure 1. If possible, power the OPT-RX51 receiver remotely with a (SPS1750) voltage connector on one of the
four satellite lines (the maximum absorption of the OPT- RX51 receiver is 240mA @ 14V).

In the event that it is necessary to transmit further data or audio/video signals, you can use the auxiliary upgrade channel (6.
AUX: OPTICAL LINK OF THE AUXILIARY CHANNEL in OPT-TX51, 3. AUX: OPTICAL LINK OF THE AUXILIARY CHANNEL in
OPT- RX51). To use the auxiliary channel, use (external) optical transmitters/receivers with a laser that operates in the 1260
÷ 1500 nm range. For an example, see Figure 2.
Uses of the auxiliary channel:
1. additional transmission of audio/video programs, utilizing, for example, a KTX or SIG7600-HTX in transmission and a
KRX in reception;
2. the AUX channel can also be used as a return channel. Therefore, for sending an audio/video or data signal from a single
user to the headend;
3. the AUX channel can be used to implement a PON Ethernet network where the transmitter is an OLT device and the
receivers are ONT devices. In this case, you make a point-to-multipoint Ethernet data network.
