Sewing Corners

1. Stop the sewing machine at the corner with the needle lowered.
2. Raise the presser foot and turn the fabric, using the needle as the fulcrum.
3. Lower the presser foot and continue sewing in the new direction.

End of Sewing

1. Stop the sewing machine.
2. Turn the hand wheel to bring the needle up to the highest position.
3. Raise the presser foot and carefully pull the fabric out to the left and cut through the
upper and lower threads.
4. To prepare the sewing machine for the next seam, pull approx. 15 cm of thread out
backwards.
Trimming and Sewing On Appliqués
Choose zigzag stitch 4, 5 or 6 and sew along the fabric edge so that the right needle
prick is located straight outside the edge of the fabric.

Sewing Buttonholes

Note: If you are sewing buttonholes for the fi rst time, fi rst practise on a scrap piece of
fabric before you sew on the actual fabric.
1. Place the fabric down under the presser foot at the point where the buttonhole is to
begin.

2. Choose stitch type 12, slowly sew 3 to 4 stitches and then
stop.
3. Raise the needle and switch to stitch type 11. Begin at the
edge of stitch 12 and sew the required hole length slowly
and straight.
4. Raise the needle, again choose stitch type 12, place the
needle at the edge of the stitch and slowly sew 3 to 4
stitches.
