Sewing

Selecting Stitches
CAUTION!
Never turn the stitch adjusting wheel (1) while the sewing machine is running or when
the needle is in the needle plate (15). It could break off.
On the sewing machine you can choose between 12 stitches. The relevant stitches 1 to
12 are shown next to the stitch adjusting wheel (1). Stitches 1 to 3 are straight stitches
with different stitch lengths, stitches 4 to 6 are zigzag stitches of different sizes, stitches
7 to 10 are decorative stitches, stitches 11 and 12 are for buttonholes.
1. Elevate the needle by turning the hand wheel (3) (clockwise) away from you.
2. Turn the stitch adjusting wheel so that the arrow next to the wheel points to the stitch
number you want.
Sewing With and Without Foot Control
Sewing with the foot control (23): Hold the fabric fi rmly and activate the foot control.
The sewing process will begin. If you release your foot from the foot control, the sew-
ing machine stops.
Reverse Mode
CAUTION!
Always stop the sewing machine before you change the sewing direction!
Sew back a little at the start and end of a seam to sew up the seam.
Sewing without the foot control: Hold the fabric fi rmly and slide
the On/Off switch (5) to L (slow) or H (fast) to start the sew-
ing machine. Slower sewing (L) is suitable for more precise,
demanding tasks where the machine is stopped more often.
For a long seam without any interruptions, choose the higher
speed (H). To stop the sewing machine, slide the On/Off switch
to OFF.
Stop the sewing machine, press down the reverse but-
ton (4) and press the foot control (25) or the On/Off
switch (5) to sew backwards.
When you release the reverse button, the machine sews
forwards again.
