Dangers of Injury

Danger of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
Keep the device, the cable and the plug away from water or other liquids in order to
avoid electric shocks. Never touch the mains plug, the cable or the device with wet
or moist hands.
The device should only be used and stored out of the reach of children. Improper use
can lead to injuries and electric shock. The mains cable must also be kept out of the
reach of children.
Make sure that children are not able to play with the device. When using the device
near children, ensure that children do not touch the device or the cable.
Keep fi ngers away from all moving parts. Special care should be taken in the area of
the sewing needle.
Do not sew any clothing while it is being worn on your body or the body of another
person. Take off the clothing before doing any sewing.
The device should not be used if it is damaged.
In order to prevent electric shocks, place the device in a location in which the device,
the mains cable and the mains adapter cannot come into contact with water or other
liquids. Should the device fall into water, switch off the power supply immediately.
Never touch the device, the cable or the mains adapter with wet hands.
Make sure that the connected mains cable does not present a trip hazard. The cable
must not hang down from the surface on which the device is placed in order to pre-
vent the device from being pulled down.
Make sure that you have enough space to work in.
Never leave the device unattended when it is connected to the mains.

Danger of Fire

Do not use the device if highly fl ammable gases are present in the air.

Damage to Property and the Device

Always check the device for damage before putting it into operation. If the device or
accessories display visible signs of damage, the device must not be used. Do not use
the device if it has malfunctioned or been dropped. You should then have it checked
by an authorised service centre.
In the event of damage / faults, switch the device off immediately.
Never try to repair an electrical device yourself; contact your nearest customer ser-
vice centre/specialist dealer to ensure your own safety. In the event of any damage,
contact our customer service department.
Only the accessory parts supplied by the manufacturer should be used. If accessory
parts which are not authorised by the manufacturer are used, all warranty and guar-
antee claims are void.
The sewing machine must not be used if any air openings are closed off. Keep venti-
lation holes of the machine free of any fl uff, dust and loose fabric.
