Using the Threader
1. Guide the wire loop of the threader (28) from left to right through the eye of the nee-
dle.
2. Push the thread through the wire loop.
3. Pull the wire loop with the thread out through the eye of the needle.
4. The thread is now threaded. Remove it from the wire loop.
Threading the Lower Thread
CAUTION!
Only use metal bobbins! Plastic bobbins are not suitable for this sewing machine with
a magnetic bobbin compartment.
The upper thread must already have been threaded.
Use the same sizes of thread for the upper thread and lower thread!
26
1. Pull the cover of the bobbin compartment (6) off towards
you.
2. Place a bobbin (29) with the lower thread into the bob-
bin compartment in such a way that it rotates clockwise
when you pull on the thread and unwind about 10 cm of
the thread. (You can read up on how the lower thread is
wound onto the bobbin in the "Spooling" section.)
3. Raise the presser foot lever (18). Take hold of the upper
thread and turn the hand wheel (3) (anticlockwise) to-
wards you. The needle (7) will dip down into the bobbin
compartment and pick up the lower thread by means of a
loop when it lifts up again.
4. Once this loop has formed, pull the upper thread slightly
tighter and fetch the end of the lower thread with a needle
or scissors which you should guide under the needle and
the presser foot (16) from right to left. The lower thread
should now be pulled through the small hole in the needle
plate (15).
5. Now bring both thread ends together, pull them out for ap-
prox. 15 cm and guide them back under the presser foot.
6. Slide the cover back onto the bobbin compartment. It must
engage audibly.
