Démontage du différentiel et changement de la
cassette
Le différentiel est sans entretien et ne doit être démonté que si la
cassette doit être changée.
1.
Dévissez la roue gauche (page 28) ou bien dévissez l'étrier de
frein gauche.
2.
Écartez le soufflet élastomère (2) du carter du différentiel (4)
vers la gauche.
3.
Dévissez la vis M6 (1).
4.
Extrayez l'ensemble axe gauche complet (3) d'environ 10 cm
hors du tube du cadre et du différentiel. À l'intérieur du
différentiel se trouve un alvéole hexacave 10 mm.
5.
Maintenez la roue droite, insérez une clé Allen de 10 mm (5)
dans l'alvéole hexacave du différentiel et dévissez de l'arbre
d'entraînement droit (6) le différentiel (4) avec les pignons (7)
dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre. (Attention : filetage à
gauche).
Remarque :
Si ce n'est pas le différentiel, mais l'arbre d'entraînement dro-
it qui se dévisse, procédez comme suit :
Desserrez la vis de serrage de la patte de dérailleur et
extrayezun peu sur la gauche hors du différentiel l'arbre
d'entraînement droit. Bloquez l'arbre à l'aide d'une pince
multiprises et dévissez le différentiel avec une clé Allen de 10
mm (5). Lors du remontage, il est impératif de freiner la vis
d'entraînement avec du frein filet haute résistance et de la
serrer à un couple de 80 Nm.
6.
Extrayez le différentiel avec la cassette. Vous pouvez à pré-
sent démonter le pignon avec ses deux flasques et la douille
entretoise.

Removing the differential and replacing the cassette
The differential requires no maintenance and must only be re-
moved when replacing the cassette.
1.
Unscrew the left wheel (page 28) or the left brake caliper.
2.
Slide the rubber bellows (2) of the differential case (4) to the
left.

Loosen the M6 bolt (1).

Pull the left axle assembly (3) approx. 10 cm (4") out of the frame
tube and out of the differential.
5.
Brace the right wheel while unscrewing the differential (4)
with the chainring assembly (7) from the right drive shaft (6)
clockwise (Attention: left-hand thread) by using a 10mm Allen
key (5) in the hexagon socket.

Note:
If the right drive screw comes off instead of the differential,
then proceed as follows:
Loosen the clamp screw on the derailleur hanger and pull the
right drive shaft with the differential slightly out to the left.
Brace the shaft using a pipe wrench, and unscrew the dif-
ferential, using a 10mm Allen key (5) in the hexagon socket.
When reassembling the unit, the drive screw must be secured
using high strength threadlocker and tightened with a torque
of 80 Nm (65 ft-lbs).
6.
Remove the differential with the chainring assembly. Now the
chainring with the chainguards and spacer can be removed.
