SAMPL'AIR LITE

8.1 Cleaning

The Sampl'air Lite should be cleaned after each sampling campaign because a wide range of stains can
contaminate the sampling head and then reduce the reliability of the results.
The part that has to be cleaned the more carefully is the sampling grid, as it is between the air and the
medium.
The unit surfaces are not deteriorated by usual cleaning products (Ethanol 90 °, bleach, «Dégragerme»,
«Proseptol»).
Between each sampling
External surfaces and the sampling grid should be washed with a disinfecting spray or a lotion between
sampling. Some cleaning and disinfectant wipes may be used (AESANI205228).
Between each sampling campaign
The stainless steel impaction grid may be autoclaved (at 134°C for 18 minutes or at 121°C for 15 minutes)
!
!
!
ONLY THE STAINLESS STEEL GRID MAY BE AUTOCLAVED.
This equipment is not to be used in water. Consequently it must not be swilled out.

8.2 Calibration of the tachometer

The tachometer defines the rotation speed of the turbine allowing the nominal airflow of 100 litres per min. To
ensure a good quality of the samplings, a control and calibration of should be done every year. The calibration
of the tachometer is strictly reserved for the qualified personnel only (BioMérieux S.A staff, or persons who
have been trained by BioMérieux S.A staff).

8.3 Battery charging

!
!
!
Before using Sampl'air Lite for the first time, it is advised to charge it for at
-
least 12 hours.
If left unused for a certain amount of time, a fully charged battery will
-
discharge over time. It is recommended to recharge the battery at least once a
month in order to preserve its lifetime.
-
The charger's temperature may be higher during charging. This is normal, and does not
indicate a problem.
-
Charging may take longer if the battery is not new or the temperature increases during
charging.
-
A battery that is new or has not been used for a long time may get discharged more
quickly. This is normal. A battery stays loaded longer once it has been used and then
charged several times.
If a battery that is not completely discharged is put in charge, it will discharge quickly
-
when used afterwards. Its normal performances may be retrieved when it is totally
discharged then charged again.
-
A battery that stays charged only a short time, even after being totally charged, is faulty
and needs to be replaced.
-
Do not try to charge a fully charged battery; this may reduce its performances.
The battery becomes performant more quickly if you charge it at room temperature, and
-
when the low battery warning occurs.
