Operation

This compressor has been
inspected, thoroughly tested
and approved at the factory.
For this unit to give long
satisfactory service it must be
installed and operated properly.
This compressor has been designed
for a 80%/ ON – 20%/ OFF duty
cycle.
All models have a pressure switch
that senses changes in receiver
pressure and automatically starts
and stops the compressor at preset
pressure limits.
Models are also equipped with head
unloaders, pilot valve and needle
valve to provide continuous run
capabilities. Continuous run is
recommended if motor starts
exceed 8 starts/hour. To operate
unit in continuous run, open needle
valve located next to pilot valve.
The pilot valve is now able to sense
receiver pressure. When the
pressure in the receiver reaches
170 psi, the pilot valve opens and
air is released to the intake head
unloaders. The compressor stops
compressing air and runs unloaded
until the pilot valve senses the
receiver pressure has dropped to
140 psi. At this time air is released
from the intake head unloaders and
the compressor starts compressing
again.

cycling operation.
8. This compressor is equipped with
A pressure lubrication system.
The oil pressure gauge is
located on the bearing housing
on the front of the crankcase.
During operation oil pressure
should normally be between
15 PSIG and 30 PSIG.
9. Check for proper operation
of any options. Refer to
individual option
instruction sheet.
10. When the initial run period
has shown no operating
problems, shut unit down and
recheck oil level.
