BLADE ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 6)

(1) using the screws (2) and the corresponding lock nuts (3).
Before every registration it is very important to clean the bar from the dirty in order to avoid wrong adjustments..
The blade-holders (1) have to be adjusted one per one , so go on adjusting the first blade-holder , then the second, then the third, etc..
For the blade adjustment , we suggest you to operate on the blade-holders (1) .
IMPORTANT : for the control for each blade adjustment : you have first to disassemble the cover (4): unscrew the nut (6), remove the
washer (5) turn it upwards and remove it from the pin (A); then slowly make the pulley to turn by hand (7) and verify the blades to freely
turn. Re-assemble the cover .
CUTTER BAR SERVICING :
particular for the surfaces which are in contact between the slide and the blade sections is absolutely necessary every use. If the machine
is not used for long periods, please protect the cutter and the blade using anti-corrosive and anti-oxidizing substances.
BLADE PROTECTION (Fig. 7)

HOW TO MAKE THE BLADE REPLACEMENT (Fig. 8 - 8/A):

Procedure for replacing blades:
- Remove the protective cover (1): unscrew the nut (3), remove the washer (2), turn it upwards and remove it from the pin (A).
- Remove the drive belt (4) from the pulley (B).
- Unscrew the screws (5) and the nuts (6), remove (lift) the bar movement (8) from the cutter bar body (7).
- Unscrew the screws (10) and the nuts (11), remove the washers (12) and remove the bar attachment (9) from the cutter bar body (7).
- Remove the upper blade movement plate (13), unscrewing the screws (14) and removing the washers (15)
- Using a pin tool inserted in the hole (C), remove the upper blade (16).
- Turn over the cutter bar body (7)
- Remove the lower blade movement plate (17), unscrewing the screws (18) and removing the washers (19).
- Using a pin tool inserted in the hole (D), remove the lower blade (20).
After 2 or 3 sharpenings it is recommended to replace the blades.
To reassemble the blades on the bar, repeat the above operations in reverse.
ATTENTION: To fix the upper (13) and lower (17) blade movement plates, apply some thread locking on the screws (14) and (18). We
recommend you to lubricate the contact surfaces of the blades (16) and (20) before reassembling them.
CUTTER BLADES SHARPENING (Fig.9)
RECOMMEND YOU NOT TO OVERCOME 15 HOURS WORK. For this reason the blade should be removed and cleaned . Please verify
if the teeth and the the two blades are not deformed then you can proceed with the sharpening. In general you could use a hand grinder
with about 15000-20000 turns/min. with a sharpening drill / cup shaped grinding point diameter of 25 mm and lenght of about. 35 mm.
Cutter bar teeth need a cutting angle 35°-40°.
Please pay attention not to overheat them too much or they would loose their strenght due to the thermal treatment. The toe of tooth
