Signal Linking

The Next™ NXT-1 can receive DMX, Art-Net™, or Kling-Net signal. The Next™ NXT-1 has 2
Neutrik® etherCON® pass through ports, and 3- and 5-pin DMX In and Out ports.
The Next™ NXT-1 can be signal linked to receive one or the other or both types of cables.
Art-Net™ and Kling-Net Linking
Art-Net™ and Kling-Net signals pass through Ethernet cables and the Neutrik® etherCON®
ports in the back of the product, that accept the Ethernet cable, are auto-sensing, so they can
be either an input port or an output port.
The three LED indicator lights in between the two ports indicate that the Next™ NXT-1 is
connected to a network and that there is activity on the network. These lights are not proof
that the Next™ NXT-1 is receiving signal from a controller.
The diagram below shows Art-Net™ or Kling-Net signal linking for three Next™ NXT-1
products.

DMX Linking

DMX signal passes through DMX cables. The Next™ NXT-1 has both 3- and 5-pin DMX In
ports and DMX Out ports. These ports are not auto-sensing like the Neutrik® etherCON®
ports. They can be only inputs or outputs. However, the 3-pin input works with the 5-pin
output, and vice versa.
The diagram below shows DMX signal linking for three Next™ NXT-1.
