Multi-Protocol Configuration

In a multi-protocol control system, signal and content come to the Next™ NXT-1 over
Neutrik® etherCON® cables and DMX cables. The Neutrik® etherCON cables carry the
Art-Net™ or Kling-Net signal and the DMX cables carry the DMX signal.
When using a multi-protocol control system with Kling-Net and DMX, configure the DMX
personality and address through the DMX Functions menu option. Kling-Net protocol does
not require any special configuration in the Next™ NXT-1.
When using a multi-protocol system with Art-Net™ and DMX, configure the Art-Net™ settings
through the Art-Net Setup menu option and the DMX personality and address through the
DMX Functions menu option. Make sure to configure the DMX address the same in both
Art-Net > Start Channel and in DMX Functions > DMX Address.

Kling-Net And DMX Configuration

Kling-Net is a powerful, and easy to configure, video protocol that works seamlessly with
ArKaos MediaMaster and can be used in combination with a DMX controller to display video
content and control the movement of the Next™ NXT-1.
When using Kling-Net and MediaMaster for video content, and a lighting controller for
movement control, then set the DMX personality to 119 or 106 channels so the pixel mapping
control channels are activated and respond to the video content. Set the lighting controller to
send information to all the channels so it can control movement and display colors when
there is not video content.
Make sure the lighting controller fixture profile sends DMX signals down the
movement channels without sending any DMX signals down the pixel
mapping channels. If the DMX controller sends ghost signals down the pixel
mapping channels it could interfere with the video signal.
