Inspect your log
Make sure there are no nails or foreign objects in logs to be cut.
Never attempt to cut logs containing nails, wire or debris.
Wear protective equipment
- Wear eye protection! Protect your eyes and face
Any log splitter may throw foreign objects into the air.
Flying debris can cause permanent eye damage or face & head injury.
Always wear protective face shield or safety goggles and helmet.
Note: everyday eyeglasses have only impact resistant lenses. They are not safety
glasses.
- Wear protective gloves! Wear safety footwear!
Protective electrically non-conductive gloves and non-skid footwear / protective
boots are recommended when working.
Wear protective boots to protect your feet against potential falling logs.
Wear protective gloves to protect hands against wood debris and splits.
- Wear hearing protection! Wear ear protective equipment against noise
generated by the machine.
- Wear respiratory protection! Wear protective respiratory equipment against
dust generated by the machine.
Prevent fires
Do not smoke or have open flames when operating or refilling the oil tank.
Never operate the log saw near a flame or spark.
Only the operator may stand within the operating range of the machine. Keep
non-involved persons, as well as domestic and farm animals, out of the hazard
area (min. distance 5m)
Keep visitors and children away
The log saw must always be operated by one person only.
Other people should keep at a safe distance from the work area (at least 5m),
especially when the log saw is under operation.
Never ask another person to help you with freeing jammed log.
No one under the age of 16 should be allowed to operate the log saw.
Any individual under the age of 18 should have the necessary training, skills to
perform the functions properly and safely and should always be under the
supervision of an adult responsible for its safety.
Keep persons (esp. children) and animals away from product and working area.
Avoid injury from unexpected accident
Cutting and crushing hazard! Never touch dangerous parts when the saw is
moving. Always pay full attention to the movement of the rotating saw.
Danger! Keep clear of moving parts!
Do not straddle or reach across the cutting area when operating the log saw.
Never pile logs to be cut in a manner that will cause you to reach across the log saw.
Never try to cut two logs on top of each other. One of them may fly up and hit you.
Do not place any tool or object or any part of your body in the machine during
operation.
Protect your hands
Keep hands out of moving parts and especially the blade.
Keep your hands away from splits and cracks which open in the log. They may
close suddenly and crush or amputate your hands.
Do not remove jammed logs with your hands.
