6.1- Mechanical mounting of Jump repeater

Jump
4 x Ø5.5 mm

6.2- Physical position of Jump repeater

The Jump radio repeater must be placed in a location which is sheltered from impacts
and weather.
RF waves do not cross metal walls. The antenna must not be placed in an enclosure
forming a shield (metal cabinet, reinforced concrete wall, metal framework or wall, etc.).
Any obstacle located between the components of the system (transmitter / receiver /
receiver) will produce a loss of range.
Insofar as possible, the repeater antenna should :
 be placed in the most appropriate location to be best seen by the transmission and
reception points,
 be directed downward, upward, or horizontally, referring to the fact that the best radio
lobe is indicated on the diagrams given above.
 be pointed directly or, if not possible, with a minimum number of obstacles between the
transmission and reception points.
 It should never cross a wall, even an insulating wall.
