safety reasons, in such conditions a ground fault interrupter must
be connected in series. If the ground fault interrupter trips the
machine must be sent for service.
Do not let any metal parts enter the airing slots - danger of short
circuit!
WARNING! Danger of burns The wheel and workpiece will become
hot during use. Wear gloves when changing discs or touching
workpiece. Keep hands away from the grinding area at all times.
MAINS CONNECTION
Connect only to single-phase AC system voltage as indicated on
the rating plate. It is also possible to connect to sockets without an
earthing contact as the design conforms to safety class II.
Appliances used at many di erent locations including wet room
and open air must be connected via a residual current device (FI,
RCD, PRCD) of 30mA or less.
Only plug-in when machine is switched o .
Inrush currents cause short-time voltage drops. Under unfavoura-
ble power supply conditions, other equipment may be a ected. If
the system impedance of the power supply is lower than 0,2 Ohm,
GB
disturbances are unlikely to occur.
SPECIFIED CONDITIONS OF USE
The angle grinder is intended for grinding and cutting metal,
stone, concrete and ceramic materials as well as sanding and wire
brushing.
Use the cutting guard from the accessories range for cutting
application.
Please refer to the instructions supplied by the accessory
manufacturer.
The machine is suitable only for working without water.
Only appropriate grinding or cutting discs and related guards
(grinding guard or cutting guard) as described in the product
speci cation section of this manual should be tted to the angle
grinder. The angle grinder is designed for handheld use; it is not to
be mounted onto a xture or workbench.
Do not use the product in any way other than those stated for
intended use.
WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
For accessories intended to be tted with threaded hole wheel,
ensure that the thread in the wheel is long enough to accept the
spindle length.
Always use and store the cutting and grinding wheels according
to the manufacturer's instructions.
Always use the correct guard for cutting and grinding.
The grinding surface of the centre depressed wheels must be
mounted min. 2 mm below the plane of the guard lip.
The adjusting nut must be tightened before starting to work with
the machine.
Always use the auxiliary handle.
The workpiece must be xed if it is not heavy enough to be steady.
Never move the workpiece towards the rotating wheel by hand.
The ange nut must be securely tightened before the machine is
started. If the tool is not securely tightened with the ange nut, it
is possible that the tool will lose the required clamping force when
it is decelerated.

ELECTRONICS
The built-in electronic will keep a constant speed even under
increased load.
OVERLOAD AND KICKBACK PROTECTION
The power tool has an overload and kickback safety function and
stops if it is overloaded. Make sure that the switch is in the o
position and then switch the power tool back on again in order to
continue to work.
RESTART PROTECTION
The power tool is supplied with a restart protection. This prevents
the switched-on power tool from starting by itself when the
power tool is connected to the power source and from restarting
after a failure of the power supply. If the grinding body is outside
of the workpiece switch o the power tool and then switch it back
on again in order to continue to work. If the cutting wheel is inside
of the workpiece wait until the wheel comes to a complete stop,
disconnect the plug from the power source, pull the wheel out of
the cut, switch o the power tool, connect the power tool to the
power source and then switch the power tool back on again in
order to continue to work.
STARTING CURRENT LIMITER
The starting current for the machine is several times greater than
rated current. The starting current limiter reduces the starting
current to such an extent that a fuse (16 A, slow-blow) is not
tripped.
SOFT START
Electronic soft start for save use prevents jerky run-up of the
machine.
BRAKING SYSTEM
The run-on brake engages when the trigger is released, causing
the tool to stop within seconds.
Make sure that the insertion tool comes to a complete stop before
laying it down.
In comparison with tools without a run-on brake the run-on time
will be highly reduced by braking.
If the time between releasing the switch and the stop of the
insertion tool increases to much, please have the tool serviced by
an authorized MILWAUKEE service facility.
MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the plug from the socket before carrying out
any work on the machine.
The ventilation slots of the machine must be kept clear at all
times.
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be
done by the manufacturer or his agent in order to avoid a safety
hazard.
Use only Milwaukee accessories and Milwaukee spare parts. Should
components need to be replaced which have not been described,
please contact one of our Milwaukee service agents (see our list of
guarantee/service addresses).
If needed, an exploded view of the tool can be ordered. Please
state the Article No. as well as the machine type printed on the
label and order the drawing at your local service agents or directly
at: Techtronic Industries GmbH, Max-Eyth-Straße 10, 71364 Win-
nenden, Germany.
