10. 1 . 1 PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS

ATTENTION
Before carrying out the controls in-
dicated below, make sure that the
unit is disconnected from the power
mains, using the appropriate instru-
ments.
- Make sure that the louver packs
are clean and free from obstacles.
- Make sure that the fans are free
from leaves, boxes, obstacles,
snow accumulation, and that they
are not mechanically blocked.
10. 1 .2 Electrical controls on the
unit without power
- Check that the main power cables
are suitably sized, able to support
the overall absorption of the unit,
and that the unit has been appro-
priately earthed.
- Check that all the electrical con-
nections have been made correct-
ly and all the terminals adequately
tightened.
10. 1 .3 Electrical controls on the
unit with power
The following operations are to be
carried out when the unit is supplied
with power.
- Use a tester to verify that the va-
lue of the power supply voltage to
the RST phases is equal to 400V
±10%; also verify that the unbalan-
ce between phases is no greater
than 3%.
- Check that the connections made
by the installer comply with the
electrical diagrams onboard the
machine.
- Supply power to the unit by turning
the main switch to the ON position.
The display will come on a few se-
conds after voltage has been sup-
plied; check that the operating sta-
tus is on OFF.
- Verify that the resistor of the com-
pressor oil pan is working proper-
ly by measuring the increase in
temperature of the oil pan. The
resistor(s) must be in operation
for at least 24 hours prior to the
start-up of the compressor, and in
any case the temperature of the oil
pan must be 10-15°C greater than
the ambient temperature, in order
to allow the heating resistors of
the compressor oil pans to evapo-
rate any refrigerant present in the

oil. Failure to observe this precau-
tion can cause serious damage to
the compressor and will void the
warranty.

10. 1 .4 Hydraulic circuit controls

- Check that the system has been
washed and the washing water
drained out before the unit was
connected to the system.
- Check that all the hydraulic con-
nections have been made correctly
and that the indications on the ra-
ting plates have been followed.
- Check that the hydraulic system
is filled and under pressure, and
make sure there is no air; if so, ble-
ed it.
- Check to make sure that any on-off
valves present on the system are
correctly opened.
- The function of the antifreeze con-
trol handled by the electronic re-
gulation and by the temperature
probe located at the outlet of the
evaporator is to prevent the for-
mation of ice when the water flow
rate is too low. Correct operation
can be checked by progressively
increasingly the antifreeze setpoint
until it passes the outlet water tem-
perature, and keeping the water
temperature controlled with a high
precision thermometer, verify that
the unit is off and generates the
respective alarm. After this opera-
tion, take the antifreeze setpoint
back to its original value.

10. 1 .5 Cooling circuit controls

- Check the cooling circuit: any oil
spots may be a sign of leaks (cau-
sed by transport, handling, or
other)
- Verify that the cooling circuit is un-
der pressure
- Verify that all the service outlets
are closed with caps; their absence
could cause refrigerant leaks

10.2. 1 START OF OPERATION

NOTE
Please note that on request the units
in this series can be started up by the
AERMEC service facility in your area.
The start of operation must be sche-
duled in advance based on the time-
frame for the completion of works for
the system. Prior to the work to be
carried out by the AERMEC service
personnel, all other works (electrical
and hydraulic hook-ups, priming and
bleeding of air from the system) must
have been completed.
For the setting of the operating para-
meters and for detailed information
regarding the operation of the machi-
ne and of the control board, please
refer to the user manual.
After having scrupulously carried
out all the controls described above,
the unit can be put into operation by
pressing the ON button. Check the
operating parameters (setpoint) and
reset any alarms present. After a few
minutes, the unit will begin operating.
10.2.2 Cooling circuit controls
- Check for any leaks of REFRIGE-
RANT GAS, particularly in cor-
respondence with the pressure
points, pressure transducers, and
pressure switches (vibrations du-
ring transport may have loosened
the unions).
- After a brief period of operation,
check the oil level in the compres-
sor and the parameters of the coo-
ling circuit.
- THE
HIGH
PRESSURE
(standard supply on ANR)
stops the compressor, generating
the respective alarm, when the deli-
very pressure exceeds the setpoint
value.
Correct operation can be checked
by closing the air intake to the ex-
changer (in cooling operation), and
keeping under control the pressu-
re gauge, where installed by the
user or the installer because it is
not supplied by the factory, in the
of high pressure points. Verify that
the intervention takes place in cor-
respondence with the calibration
value.
ATTENTION
In the event of failure to intervene at
the calibration value, stop the com-
pressor immediately and check the
cause. The reset of the ALARM is
manual and can only be done when
the pressure falls below the differen-
tial value.
- THE LOW AND HIGH PRESSURE
TRANSDUCER
(present only in the cooling ver-
sions)
The compressor stops, generating the
respective alarm, when the pressure
SWITCH
