INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Before each use, the nebulizer and the accessories should be cleaned according to the instructions in the section
"CLEANING AND DISINFECTION ".
1. Plug the power cord into a power socket corresponding to the voltage of the unit.
2. Carefully wash your hands before preparing the inhalation therapy.
3. Open the medication nebulizer by turning the upper part (9c) counterclockwise.
4. Pour the drug prescribed by the physician into the lower part (9a). Close the medication nebulizer by turning the upper
part (9c) clockwise.
5. Assemble the desired accessories as shown on the drawing (picture 1) (page 1).
6. Sit in a comfortable position while holding the nebulizer, place the mouthpiece in your mouth or use the nasal prong
or the mask. Start the unit by turning the switch on (3). Drug delivery to the airways can be maximised by coordinating
breathing with the intermittent closure of the drug saving device (8). Close the hole of the drug saving device (8) with
your finger and gently inhale as deep as possible. Hold your breath for a moment in order to allow the inhaled aerosol
to deposit; then slowly breath out. Whilst holding your breath, remove the finger from the drug saving device (8) to
minimise drug wastage.
The drug saving device (8) should not be used if you require continuous nebulization especially
with children or disabled persons.
7. When the treatment is finished, turn off and unplug the unit. Before reusing, ensure that it has cooled
down to room temperature.
8. It may happen that during the use of the nebulizer visible humidity deposits form in the connection
tube (6), disconnect the tube from the nebulizer and let it dry using the compressor air flow.
ACCESSORIES -TECHNICAL FEATURES
Nebulizer RAPIDFLAEM 4 (suitable for intensive use)
The RAPIDFLAEM 4 is a professional, durable and rapid delivery nebulizer suitable for patients with chronic pathologies
especially when costly drugs are used. The constant average size of the aerosol particles delivered by the RAPIDFLAEM
4 nebulizer makes it suitable for treatment of both the upper and the lower respiratory tract. It features a valve system
that is automatically controlled by the patient's respiratory rhythm. During inspiration, the inspiratory valve (A) in the
nebulizer opens to allow the intake of additional air which increases the amount of nebulized drug available to the patient,
while the exhalation valve (B) in the mouthpiece (10) is closed. The patient can keep the mouthpiece in the mouth when
breathing out, as the exhalation valve (B) automatically opens when exhaling and the inspiratory valve (A) is closed, which
also reduces the drug nebulization and minimises the release of nebulized drug into the environment.
Essential oils or balsamic substances should not be used with the nebulizer.
