The difference
between Lines and
Sondes
Locating the DIGIMOUSE
It is important to understand the difference between the signal emitted by a line and that
emitted by a sonde (DIGIMOUSE).
A line emits a signal that is unsurprisingly linear, whereas a DIGIMOUSE emits a signal from
a single point. Put simply, if these signals could be seen, then that of a line would appear as
a long and large tube, that of a DIGIMOUSE as a giant donut (with the DIGIMOUSE located
through the hole!).
For ease of tracing a long service, locate the sonde and mark the position every
3 - 4 m / 10 -13 ft.
