How to Use the DIGICAT

Step Description

The unit will automatically select Power mode and maximum sensitivity.
1. Mark out the area to be excavated with line marker or chalk.
2. Walk into the area in which you wish to search for underground services.
Sweep across the area in a regular grid pattern with the DIGICAT taking care not
to swing it - i.e. keep it vertically upright and perpendicular to the ground.

Ensure that the DIGICAT is held in an upright position, and as close to the ground
as possible.
3. Continue the sweep until either a signal is located or you are satisfied that the
area has been adequately tested in power mode.
4. Repeat sweep in radio mode.

In the presence of a live electrical conductor (underground service) a tone will be
emitted and the LED bar display will rise and fall as you pass over it.
