Cutting hedges

When operating the trimmer, keep extension cord behind
trimmer. Never drape it over hedge being trimmed.
Before you start your work, select branches with a
diameter bigger than 20mm and cut them with a pruning
shear. A trapezoidal cut corresponds to the natural, growth
of plants and results in optimal hedge growing.
First cut the sides from the bottom to the top. Cut the upper
part giving it the shape you prefer, in a straight horizontal
form, roof-like or rounded.
The safety blade has laterally rounded and staggered
cutting teeth to reduce danger of injury. The additional
shock protection avoids inconvenient kickback when the
blades come into contact with walls, fences etc.
If the blades are jammed or blocked by obstacles, switch
the motor off immediately, pull the plug, and then remove
the object jamming the blades.
Caution! Metal obstacles like fences etc. may damaged
the cutting blades.
Always make sure to keep the extension cord behind your
back and to start cutting the hedge at the point nearest to
the supply socked. Therefore plan your working direction
before staring.
Maintenance
Maintenance and servicing
Turn off Tool and Disconnect from Power Supply.
When not in use, the Hedge Trimmer should be stored in
a dry, frost free location not within the reach of children.
Keep ventilation slots of the Trimmer clean at all times
and prevent any foreign matter from entering.
If the enclosure of the Trimmer requires cleaning do not
use solvents but a moist cloth only. There are no user
serviceable parts in the Trimmer; if a fault is suspected or
the supply cord requires replacement, return the Trimmer
to an authorized Service Agent for repair.
The blade rail should be cleaned and treated with light
machine oil or spray lubricant (such as WD 40, CRC5.56
or RP7) after each use. When a job lasts for a longer
period of time it is recommended that the blade rail also
be treated with spray lubricant at regular intervals during
operation.
When the carbon brushes wear out the tool will spark
and/or stop. The brushes are a wearing component of
the tool and should be replaced prior to the carbon
wearing out fully. Brushes will wear out after many uses
but before they do take the tool to an Authorised Service
Agent for quick and low cost replacement. Always replace
both brushes at the same time.
